Necessary Writing Tools

The computer is arguably the most useful tool for writing, but I would like to posit that a proper mindset gets me to that computer in the first place and allows me to drown out the negative internal voices that tell me everyday that I’m not good enough.

I’m nearing The End of WIP2. With every word I manage to punch out on the keyboard today, I say to those voices: “suck it.”

I LOVE this idea! I currently have digital post-its on my PC desktop but open web pages and such prevent me from seeing them whilst writing. I may have to adopt this approach to help get the current piece finished. Happy writing πŸ™‚

I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t even had time to listen to the negative voices! I wish. BTW, I find Post-its very useful. I have them all over my writing space, though none of them are as encouraging as yours. : )

Oh I read this at a time when all those negative voices have decided keep mum, and voluntarily. Only my dell boy is at the hospital 😦
And I’m sure you ‘il soon be posting that “happy-all-important” announcement πŸ™‚ Good luck πŸ™‚

Love it πŸ™‚ So much of what we do is in our heads, and sitting down at that keyboard is one of the most difficult parts of writing. You can do this πŸ™‚ I have a note that says “Only you can write this novel!”

I hope the words flow smoothly πŸ™‚

Yay! My old lappy had more room around the monitor, so I actually had it tacked higher. My new laptop has virtual sticky notes, so that’s encouraging, too!!

Now, finish your novel, missy! *stern face* *laughs because I don’t do stern faces well* *sends badgers instead*
