The End. For Now.

I woke up mere hours since I passed out from reading feeling antsy. Like I needed to be doing something, like getting ready for work, or working on WIP2.

But then I remembered that today is my day off from the paythebillsjob, and I have reached The End of WIP2.

(Would that also explain why I woke up with Lady GaGa’s Edge of Glory blasting away in my mind??)

Though I’m feeling kind of like this…

…it’s a little short-lived because I know I still have a lot of work to do. But, I’ll think about that another day.

For now, I plan on reading my huge stack of books that I promised myself I would read once the draft was finished (and seriously was the ONLY thing that got me to push through and cobble together scenes last night, and bask in this gloriously sunny day.)

P.S.

For the curious, my to-read list for today includes:

  • Under the Never Sky, by Veronica Rossi
  • Legend, by Marie Lu
  • Two chapters of The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, by Haruki Murakami
  • and whatever my crit partners throw my way. *stares at Kayla*

This will be SUCH a fun day off!

PPS,

Fun times! Random.org has spoken, and I get to give away a copy of Wanderlove to none other than my #accountibilibuddy, Laura! I’m sure that extra Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy entry helped you out 😀

Speaking of #accountibilibuddies, thank you for all the #badgerbadger love on Twitter, and for letting me badger you! It helped me to focus on writing, for sure! And guess what?? I have LOTS of free time now to hurl these virtual bad boys at you, muahahaha!

SO, What’s been going on with YOU??

YAY YAY YAY! I read this post the other day and it made me long for that day (weeks/months/years from now) when I, too, will type “the end.” I’m so happy for you! I hope you’ve been enjoying your reading — I liked “Under The Never Sky” and am currently reading “Legend” myself.

And thanks again for the book! It’s next on my to-read list. 😉

You’ll get there, accountibilibuddy!! I’ll be cheering and badgering you every step of the way!!
^_^ I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on WANDERLOVE!

Wee! I knew you’d get there! I’m way behind (as usual). Was hoping 1st draft of my current wip would be done by now, but…*sigh* I’m shooting for end of April. Congrats! Now the fun begins. I actually like the “fixing” stage. I can’t wait to join you!

    • Liza Kane says:

Yay! We’ll need a celebratory Starbucks run once you’re done! I almost want to get started on revisions, but I know I still need a LOT of distance to get as objective as I need to be! (But, I AM excited to get to the fixing stage!)

congrats on getting to the end!! That’s super awesome 🙂 I can’t wait to join you at the finish line, though I think I have another 6 weeks or so of writing before I get there. Sounds like an awesome day off you have planned 🙂

Congrats on wrapping up WIP2!!! Definitely a certifiable “Big Deal”. 🙂

I just finished Under the Never Sky last week and really enjoyed it! Great characters and the world building is fantastic! I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

    Cheers!

Super! I keep hearing awesome reviews about it, but am keeping my expectations at a fair middle! 😀

Oh, and I just remembered that I should probably introduce my lappytoppy to the world. His formal name is Erasmus, based on my first daemon’s name in one of those The Golden Compass games. Since laptop is very much attached to me, I thought it was fitting 😉 (His nickname is simply R, after the robot nomenclature in Asimov’s Robot series.)

      • John Rea-Hedrick says:

I love your laptop name! I actually played the same Golden Compass game years ago too. My daemon was tiger named Hermonstrya. I’ve never named my laptop, but since I feel quite attached to my iPad2 for much of my creative outlet, I named it Kurremkarmerruk (from the Earthsea), 😉

I LOVE Peanut Butter Jelly Time! Hahahaha

Congrats on finishing WIP 2!!! I almost can’t contain my excitement for you… I can only imagine how you feel, hehe. I like that you set a reward for yourself at the end. I keep thinking finishing IS the reward, but I think I need a little extra motivation. Hmmm… things to think about.

Again, super excited for your “The End.” Can’t wait to get my grubby little hands on it!

    *hugs*

Remember your enthusiasm as you wade through it, dear beta reader, heehee.

Thank you so much, and yes, a carrot at the end of the stick is DEFINITELY motivating. (My other motivation was more a negative reinforcement: there would be no reason for me to go to DFW Con, or other cons, if I didn’t finish. Boy, that gets a kick out of my fingers, too!)
